Neurological Physiotherapy

Neurological physiotherapy involves the treatment of the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and all the peripheral nerves to the face, body, arms and legs. When the nervous system is damaged there may be difficulty in controlling movement in any part of the body.

Along with movement disorders there may be altered sensation and problems with speech and swallowing. Physiotherapy treatment will follow a full physical assessment together with a detailed history of the patient's past and current medical condition. In Physio108 we develop expertise in analyzing abnormal movement, hypothesizing reasons that the movement is occurring and developing a regime that assists the client to relearn lost or impaired skills

The Most Common Disorders Are:

  • Stroke
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Head Injury
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Motor Neurone Disease
  • Myopathies & Dystrophies
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Post-operative to the Brain & Spinal Cord
